I woke up this morning to two very happy surprises. 1.) My first sale of this “Spring Rain” shower curtain, and 2.) the first yellow blossom on our newly planted rose bush. The timing is fitting in that there is a dark green-grey shower outside my window as I write, and I do love to watch the rain. Well, then, maybe three happy surprises!

I hope you are inspired! I realize you’ve seen this collection, but since I happily have many new readers, I’ve decided to show it again. Pretend it’s renamed “June Showers”

It seems that the lazy days of summer are turning crazy, bringing extra busyness to Jack’s and my life, (and I am not complaining), but I doubt I will be blogging every day, even though I would love to.

Every now and then, I think it is good to reevaluate our priorities, routines and direction. It is true that change is the only constant, and I prefer to think of change as positive.

What have I been doing? Well, you might remember my wisteria painting from the Spring. Over the weekend, I enjoyed making some soft and lovely, lavender wisteria products: note cards, iphone cases, laptop covers and skins, and a throw pillow. Take a look:

I’ve also reorganized my online store, created some new sea creatures crab and lobster products, made a few new throw pillows, with some coordinating new “Storm’s Eye” textiles in peach, yellow and light blue.

Click here to shop the wisteria collection.

Thank you so much for visiting. See you soon!

I confess to being a big believer in destinations because I am a goal-oriented person. However, I also believe very much in enjoying the journey and the beauty of the moment.

Whether it is time to rest or regroup, this lovely furniture by Brown Jordan is just perfect.

Brown Jordan Papillon

Brown Jordan Papillon2

Designed by Michael Berman for Brown Jordan, Papillon is a fluid, contemporary take on woven furnishings. Curvilinear, textural, and cocoon-like in shape, with subtle wing details, Papillon’s simplicity offers deep, comfortable seating with a soft silhouette. In muted, earthy tones, the design blends organically with any exterior or interior style. In envisioning the collection, Berman was inspired by the free spirit and individuality of the papillon (butterfly) – its beauty, grace, life of transformation and quiet harmony with nature.

Remember that outdoor furnishings are specifically designed and made to be outside. They can withstand the sun, weather, extreme temperatures, sea salt air, and are manufactured to resist mold, mildew and fade.

On their website is a very cool Custom Design Tool, where you can select your chair, your cushion color, and your finish to see what the finished product will look like.

My favorite thing is this umbrella. I just love that!

I hope you are inspired to enjoy your journey. Thank you so much for visiting!

Ahhh, the leisure of summer living. Yesterday we were by the sunny sea and today we lounge by the pool. Meet “Cricket II” from Brown Jordan. This is very attractive, fun, folding furniture, and very aptly named.

Remember that outdoor furnishings are specifically designed and made to be outside. They can withstand the sun, weather, extreme temperatures, sea salt air, and are manufactured to resist mold, mildew and fade.

Established by Robert Brown and Hubert Jordan in Pasadena, California, Brown Jordan was the first company to create furniture for full-time outdoor use. The first of these innovative designs, constructed of tubular aluminum and vinyl lace, was fittingly called “Leisure” and marked the birthplace of outdoor furniture.

On their website is a very cool Custom Design Tool, where you can select your chair, your cushion color, and your finish to see what the finished product will look like.

I hope you are inspired by this introduction to Brown Jordan. Thank you so much for visiting. Enjoy your summer living!

Isn’t this a beautiful outdoor space?! If you are not already familiar with the Brown Jordan furniture company, it is an award-winning company and an interior designer’s go-to resource.

Brown Jordan DelMar.01

The Del Mar seating collection is a striking new addition to Brown Jordan’s Woven Advantage program. Exuding classic contemporary style, the collection’s gently flared arms and the curve of the back which extends through the leg, create an inviting silhouette that promises comfort provided by plush Suncloth® cushions and pillows in fabrics drawn from the wide range of Brown Jordan textiles.

I’ve been wanting to share these beautiful textiles by Robert Allen with you for quite some time, and now that June has arrived with all of its sunny heated glory, there is no better time than now.

Robert Allen Magic Hour

Color Library Magic Hour
Robert Allen expands its Color Library collection with a new set of ethereal colors for the autumn season. Cove, Violet Sky and Sunrise capture the lights and colors of the “Magic Hour,” the first and last hour of sunlight each day. Robert Allen’s Color Library brings these light-altered landscape colors into the interior, for an effect that is as luminous, rich and inspiring as the Magic Hour itself.

Good design always has a concept behind it, otherwise it is without meaning. I hope you will enjoy reading about this collection’s concept of sunlight.

Thank you so much for visiting. Enjoy your sunny day!

Happy June first! I always feel that this unofficial date marks the official beginning of summer. I love how the morning sun creates this lacy, leafy shadow pattern on the wall in our back yard. It is a perfect sunny start to every summer day!

Janus et Cie Fibonacci Ventana

After being inspired by an impromptu summer living theme, I thought it fitting to anticipate a weekend of summery style. Shown are a few pieces of the beautiful and breezy Fibonacci collection of outdoor furnishings by Janus et Cie. To see them all, click or download the brochure.

For more than 34 years, JANUS et Cie has offered the best in interior and exterior residential, hospitality, contract and site furnishings…each piece a superior example of design and craftsmanship.

“Generation-Next” materials and lasting quality across the most comprehensive collection in the market.

I love the minimalism and the clean-lined style and can easily imagine myself on this comfy lounge with a good book, a glass of iced tea, followed by a nap. I also love the name of this collection, being a lover of the golden section, or sacred geometry, which you can read about here on Wikipedia.

Thank you so much for visiting. Enjoy your weekend and your summer living!
